Can Coconut Charcoal Briquettes Use LCL (Less Container Load)

Dealing with charcoal briquettes while following dangerous goods regulations is important to keep everyone safe. These rules are in place to make sure that making, storing, and moving charcoal briquettes, which can catch fire easily, is done without causing harm to people or the environment. Following these regulations is crucial for protecting workers and the quality of the briquettes while keeping everyone safe.

One of the reasons for dangerous goods regulations is making sure charcoal briquettes are protected and safe inside the container. So the real question is, do charcoal briquettes can use LLC?

The short answer is no, shipping charcoal briquettes as part of a Less than Container Load (LCL) or combine them in the same container with other products is generally not allowed. This is because shipping companies often classify charcoal briquettes as dangerous goods due to their flammability. As a result, these briquettes must always be stored separately from other items to ensure safety during transportation. The reason for this strict separation is to prevent any risks associated with the briquettes catching fire and to comply with safety regulations in the shipping industry.

Charcoal briquettes can only be stuffed in a Full Container Load (FCL). And the total amount of the minimum of FCL is 20ft container and is about 17,5 Metric Tons to 18 Metric Tons (it depends on the briquettes sizes and shapes), and for the 40ft is about 25 Metric Tons to 26 Metric Tons and it cannot be mixed with any other products, also it must be used by a cool container or refrigerator container.

But do misdeclare is working for putting charcoal in LLC? The answer is also no, because container checking and monitoring are more secured nowadays. And it is not recommended to do misdeclaring.

So what is the solution if I want to order a small amount?

Sadly, until today there are no solutions (if you want to import). Why? Because even If you order and deliver charcoal briquettes by Air freight, is still not effective because it can burn your cost more and can make your return is minus.

Importing charcoal briquettes by Air Freight or plane is not worth it unless you do it just for ordering samples, because of their high cost and only for small amounts of products.

The maximum of coconut charcoal briquettes amount for Air Freight is 100kg, but the cost almost reaching for 1 Metric Ton. Coconut briquettes are also dangerous goods products, so it needs more certification and strong regulation, and it will add more cost for the delivery.

So, maybe the best possible way is for you collect your revenue and manage your cashflow to use this as a plan of buying large amount of charcoal briquettes (1 container) in the future. Or if you still want to buy a small amount, we recommend you to don’t import it. But just buy the charcoal briquettes from the resellers in your country or an importer in your country instead.
